Yes, I would, and try to fix some of the problems that led my family into difficulties. And I would carry a notebook to write down the names of all my childhood friends so that years later I could try to find them again. Because of something that happened to my family, I lost all connections with my childhood, and in adulthood I have no friends.

Of course, there would be temptations - for example, if I went back in time, I could get silver and gold to bring back to the present and sell at a huge profit.

Doing so might upset the space-time continuum, with unknowable consequences.

In a sense, we are all real time travelers, limited to traveling in only one direction, forward. We can recall the past as memory, trying to take what good there may have been there to keep, and trying to discard the rest.
