Daily Worship Strength through Prayer Community Group
Welcome to the "second room" of the Daily Worship Strength group. This group "room" is devoted to personal and public prayer. Here we ask that prayer requests and praise reports are posted. Because we know that prayers are answered! We have a God who personally cares for and about us, His children.
Please pray for my daughter

My daughter Cheyenne got sick yesterday and threw up a few times during the day. A Christian friend of ours is a Doctor, so he called by to see her. By that time she had quite a bit of pain in the lower right abdominal area, right where her appendix is. Our friend said it wasn't likely to be the appendix, as the tummy was soft and she walked normally. She had a good night's sleep, no throwing up, but this morning she had no appetite for breakfast (unusual!) and was bending over a bit when she walked. The pain has also increased a lot and it hurts her in the same spot to move, sneeze and talk. Took her back to the same doctor and he's ordered blood tests to check for appendicitis and we should have the results this afternoon. And it's her 8th birthday in 2 days. Poor thing.
In some ways I want it to be appendicitis, because that means I can't catch anything from her. Selfish, aren't I? I'm so paranoid about germs and being around anyone with a gastric bug because I am SO very fearful about throwing up.
Please pray that Cheyenne will feel better soon and the cause of the sickness will be gone. And please pray that we will be protected from further illness. Thanks.

Oh, poor Cheyenne! Appendicitis, thankfully is curable with surgery but it is no fun. I had it last summer. I will keep you guys in my prayers.

Thank you. :o) Cheyenne is up and about now and even wanted a bit of lunch, so we're thinking it's just gastric, rather than her appendix. I will be ringing the doctor's office soon to get the results of the blood test. Praise God that she's wanting to go out and do stuff! (Even though she's not allowed yet).

Latest update: test results came through, indicating possible appendicitis. So we're off to the hospital after dinner to get her checked out by the pediatric surgeon. Please pray that God's peace will surround Cheyenne as she is a bit anxious about being in the hospital, especially so near to her birthday.

I said a quick prayer, I hope things go well as they can and if she needs surgery that it goes well

Thanks butterflyangel, she's in hospital now. She's pretty relaxed but she screamed when the needle went in for the blood test. Luckily she won't have any more needles as she has one of those drip things in her hand now (sorry I don't know what it's called). The staff at the hospital are lovely. Her surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning so hopefully they aren't running late! My husband is out of town Tuesday morning to pick up his mum and take her back to our place for Cheyenne's birthday on Wednesday. Her birthday will be spent in hospital, so we're going to try and make it a special thing. She's also going to bring her appendix home in a jar so she can take it to school for show and tell! She's looking forward to creeping some of the other kids out with that.
