Daily Strength BookClub Community Group
Calling all book readers! What would be better than to read together in a group and discuss on here with your friends from Daily Strength?

I am going to try a new local bookclub that meets on Sunday afternoons. They gave us a list of suggested books, I suggested one that did not get voted in as a selection. I did not like this month's book, Things You Save in a Fire by Katherine Center.
It was funny and an easy read but bored me. Some of you might like it as we all enjoy different types of books.
This is what I call a woman's romance novel, the entire story was about the main character's life travails and crush on a co-worker. I skimmed it and read the beginning and ending.
I have to give these two new bookclubs group a chance and see what happens but I am not a fan of the genre of romantic fiction. And I will have to think up something positive to say about the book that is honest. I have decided I need to let things unfold and focus on the book discussion and be brave to attend both these new groups. I allow myself to stop myself due to fear of what if these people don't like me?
The former bookclub that I quit last Spring had meant so much to me and people were friendship oriented until things changed, politics were allowed to enter the discussion, a new secretary took over things and ruined it by treating us as children in her classroom, and my friends that I enjoyed so much in the bookclub died or had dementia too badly. I was so mad about the old bookclub for several years but was driving my 95 year old friend who is now gone. And now I see how part of the problem was myself and how I reacted inside myself as things changed from friendship to yucky.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

I’m sorry that your former book group let you down. How impressive that you’re going to give 2 a go! Don’t worry about being liked. You’re easy to like!
I just started Twice and am already hooked. There are several decisions in my life that I wish I had the chance to do over.
On a side note: I absolutely love Jodi Foster and want to see the new movie: A Private Life
I like Jodie Foster, too. Hadn't heard of the movie, so thanks for mentioning it.
