I need to connect with other parents of CF adults. I need advice on how to handle compliance and boyfriend.

Hello cmathews.
I’m not a parent of someone with CF but I am a girlfriend. I’m not sure if this helps you or not... but I think educating the boyfriend is key. CF is crazy scary. My boyfriend and I are both 31. He is very sick right now and I feel helpless. I wish I had a better connection with his mother or family to know what is comforting to him.

I truly hope you find someone to talk to and to help you! The mothers of a CFer are truly amazing!

Im not a parent nor an adult, but I have cf. I understand how my parents are when Im sick and how I handle it. Just take it one step at a time. Focus on things in front of you and what you definitely have to do, and dont put all your stress on the what ifs or future problems. From a young age my parents taught me to take my treatments into my own hands. Its a good thing to slowly build up the amount of responsibility as they grow. For me it was slowly learning to swallow pills and take my medications and then having the responsibility of having times when I do treatments and doing them on my own.
