Continuing from the false blood test post but moving into hormones. Thank you for all your feedback.
I have tried the nuvaring, after 3 months it made my uterus swell up so big that it pushed the ring out of me. I thought it was just not placed well, but no. Seriously, hormones and me = bad.
The natural progesterone cream...If you have it compounded for you, that is one thing because they are actually using progesterone and its compounded for YOU. I am all about that. I did that for a year and it was great. I had to bully my doctor into giving me the script for it. She was against it, she wanted me to just take the pills. I went to the Compounding Pharmacy and asked the pharmacist what I should do, he wrote down the exact prescription I needed , and I handed it to my doc and said here, I want to try this.
If you buy wild yam cream or natural progesterone, it can be iffy. That's really why doctors won't recommend it. It"s not regulated, it's not proven, it's not studied enough. For instance; wild yam does have natural progesterone in it, if it is synthesized to death in a laboratory-but it doesn't say that on the bottle. Therefore, if they didn't convert the diosgenin into progesterone before adding it to the cream, it's as good as Jergens. Now, most companies know this and aren't total jerks. Therefore, they ADD "natural progesterone" to the ingredient list. But what the heck is that? They don't have to say, because it's not regulated, they can say it's a proprietary blend of herbs and minerals. But what herbs and minerals? Are you allergic to them, is it black Cohosh or St. Johns Wort? Is it really natural? Plus, there's no way to know if the lotion they are using is an effective vehicle to distribute the progesterone-how much it will distribute at a time-how much at which site of the body.? You get my point.. there's a lot of variables.
I grew up with all natural stuff. Stomach bug or menstrual cramps? Colonics( This was traumatic as a child and I don't recommend you ever take a kid to do this. However, I know a lot of people who do it now and swear by it. you wont get me withing a mile of the place. ). Cold? Chiropractor and acupuncture. Moody teenager?-Homeopathy, etc. I believe in some of it and use it still to this day. But holy heck there is so much crap and lies out there, just like anywhere else and they play on our emotions and fears. Just be sure to know as much as you can about whatever your taking, using or doing. Knowledge is power and this is no different. Research both sides of the argument and know that the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
Sorry for the rant. This is something I feel strongly about.

To update on the blood work question. I saw the gyno Monday and she said that the blood work was correct, my hormones are fine. My fibroids are being caused by a structural issue in my uterine muscles.
She was totally understanding about me not wanting to take the progesterone pills. Thank god! I was worried she would give me a hard time.
I've been having a pain and of course I have grown 5 more fibroids in three months. I am so prosperous. But interestingly, its not the fibroids causing pain this time, its some crazy ovarian cyst that has a septum and uneven sacs... I don't know, stupid cyst. I have to go back in six week to check that. She said possible laproscopy to remove it- I tuned that out... lalalalalalalalalalaaaa I can't hear you. I'm joking of course- we have to watch it and that is a possibility if it grows bigger I guess.
In the mean time, we are going to do a few simple tests to check fertility- ovulation kit, test hubby's swimmers, and in 6 weeks go back, check cyst and decide if things look good if we want to proceed with trying for kids. I'm already considered high risk from having two myomectomies, being over 30 and having an immune deficiency. It's now or never.
If no kids, then its surgery or massive hormones(no)- because something has to be done for the fibroids.
Thanks.
Thanks.
