Hi, not sure I noticed any difference. I always have left a trail of hair after me, I think it may be a bit stronger since I started my treatments...but maybe that is my imagination.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is affecting you, I am a big believer on anything 'foreign' that goes into your body changes the lay of the land. You body had to adapt to it and maybe after a while it becomes more accepting? This is what I am holding out for as I am still wrecked the day after my sub-cut IG. And to think a junior doctor working for my consultant, told me that I should be fine for going in on a night shift after infusing, I could hardly get upstairs to bed. Cue much stress about me, the treatment, work, commuting....
Still, at least I have my hair;-)

I have been losing hair in general since my CVID diagnosis, even when I was not on subQ replacement or IVIG. I have actually had spots where my scalp shows through--it has been humiliating. I am using Rogaine now in hopes of restoring at least some fuzzy to hide the bald spots. I wonder if this is simply part of CVID?

I had significant hair loss, even posted pics on this site....I think it was due to my lung diagnosis as I had several other very weird things going on as well. It could be autoimmune which is extraordinatrily hard for us to be diagnosed with...we could throw off false positives due to having others antibodies in our blood from our IVIG or we could give a false negative due to not making antibodies

Hi. I have gone through periods of hair loss. Generally they occur with a medication, such as prednisone... or as in this last time after undergoing a severe and long-lasting allergic reaction to penicillin. It is common to lose hair when recovering from a stressful, severe illness. So far, I haven't noticed any connection to my ivig. But I tend to agree with Gerrybrat, that any major change or ingestion can bring on body changes. It's probably temporary, even if it seems drastic and never-ending. My hair fell out in gobs for five months before finally stopping!

I have the same thing going on. just brushing my hair and I have a brush full. I use to have very thick hair so its not so noticeable but if you touch it you can tell its just a very thin layer of hair. I'm also kind of got a bare spot in the front where my bangs are. that you can only see when my hair parts just right. I also wonder about things like alot of us are vit D deff and things of that nature and are hair needs things like that to grow. I started using tressme shampoo w/ vit in it and my beautician says my hair is very healthy.also I'v tryed cuting it shorter so there isnt so much weight on it so maybe that will help it grow better.

YES! I have noticed it for a few months, but lately, it seems to have increased. Just yesterday I decided to try to figure out if it might be due to one of my meds, or possibly a combination of drugs. I never thought to blame it on the IVIG since I have been on it for about 3 years. I don't have a clue if the 2 are connected, but it sucks. I can literally pull out handfuls when I am showering and my hair brush is loaded at the end of the day.

It is really scary. I don't want to be bald on top of every thing else, good grief.

I have hair loss and it gets worse when I get anemic. That's what my doc says causes most of mine. When I take a shower it falls out...brush my hair...it falls out. I think I'll go bald sometimes. When I had really long hair it was really noticeable! I cut my hair (11 inces off) and now I don't notice it quite as much but it still falls out! Just part of our lovely disease I guess!

Hi Ladies- I wanted to follow up on this as I had an appointment with my dermatologist last week b/c I have all of these little red dots all over my body (not the red mole things) but anyways they can't figure that out, anyone else have those? But I asked him about the hair loss and he said that 3 - 4 months after a tramatic event (such as a hospitalization, but not sure if IVIG counts) your hair cycle is messed up but it should go back to a normal cycle after 4 to 6 months or so. So I'm hoping he is right, I'm still loosing a lot of hair, but we will see how it goes!

That makes sense... My hair fell out for months after I had a lengthy hospital stay. It's finally getting thicker (over a year later), but I really notice the thinness in the front. I can see my scalp. It doesn't seem to be coming in as quickly there.

So I've been having a lot of trouble with my hair falling out lately. I've now been off of infusions due to bad reactions for about 6 months and I'm thinking that the hair loss might be due to that. I found out that the B-vitamin Biotin can help prevent hair loss. I'm trying it but haven't really been on it long enough to see any results.

I have noticed I hair loss more now then I did prior to IVIG treatments. I have noticed that I am very sensative to heat, I have sweating that is not my normal, swelling all over my body not just in iv site, and I have a red rash that comes and goes with the swelling. Any body have similar symptoms?

Briggzie - I get all those symptoms and I attribute mine to my lung disease flaring. Its all (and more) happened twice now and each time is when my lungs are in the downward spiral.

Princess, a few years back my hair was falling out and I had about three big bald spots. I started taking biotin and it helped my hair grow back faster after a few months. i get it at GNC and its the generic version called Hair, Skin and Nails. The pills are a bit on the big side but I noticed a difference in my hair.

I have been losing my hair since diagnosis my infusions haven't started yet I just had my medi port placed. I had very long hair had to cut to my shoulders due to hair loss now its just as bad to the point I will have to wear a wig soon. I feel so defeated sometimes my disorder began with mold poisoning from my home which hurts even more. I just hope that things get better with infusions, if anyone can tell me what to expect with ivig it would be very much appreciated.

My hair began falling out around the time of my diagnosis, I have now lost it all :( this disease is not an easy one to deal with I am having my IVIG today nervous because last month I had a bad reaction. I sometimes wonder if many of the different symptoms are related to the disease process and they don't know. I have severe nausea and vomiting, diarrhea most of the time this week I have lost 6 pounds.
