HI everyone, I'm 35 and in the Atlanta area and have just this week FINALLY found someone who knows what might be wrong with me. After displaying a bizarre list of symptoms over the last two years the cardiologist who was trying to get my sky high unexplained blood pressure under control did some Cortisol testing and suggested I might have Cushings. I see an endocrinologist on Tuesday. I'm hoping they can determine what is causing this. Tired of the weight gain, sleepless nights, ruddy face, hair loss, sore legs, high blood pressure, you name it. It was crazy to finally see a disorder that showed every single thing I had been dealing with...dbf asked if my picture was posted next to the symptoms. Here's hoping I have some better luck than you guys as far as getting the proper quick diagnosis.

Do you happen to have the results of the tests that you did? Is the doctor you're seeing a specialist in cushing's? It's a rare disease and there's only a few doctors in the country that are competent in diagnosing and treating it. The pituitary clinic at Emory in Atlanta is decent. Are you going there? If they aren't helpful there are other doctors you can see but they will require travel. It's good that your cardiologist recognized the cushing's symptoms and that will likely help you get diagnosis and treatment.

I do not have the specific results but they were forwarded from the one doctor this one. This is not at Emory but if I don't get help right away from this local endo I plan on seeking out someone else. I tried to look for a list of specialists in Cushings and it didn't even list one for GA...

Yes, outside of Emory there are no Cushing's specialists in Georgia, and even Emory is only a mid-level speciality center. The closest specialists to you are probably in Virginia, but if you are flying, I would recommend going to Cleveland, Milwaukee, or Los Angeles. If you need surgery you really need to go to a specialist that has done a lot of these surgeries. I can send you more specific recommendations via private message if you'd like.

hi there - am also in the middle of getting diagnosed - saw a specialist last week - unfortunately i live in south africa and am struggling to find a support group here - my dr has set me up for the 24hr urine test and a fasting pathcare test that takes 3 hours? what other tests can anyone suggest? it took a long time to find a dr that knew my ailments - i went to my gp and told him straight that i am sick of dr's telling me that i am overweight - i dont hve to pay someone to do that : i have a mirror, AND i do not want any more suggestions of anti depressants....just cos you dont know whats wrong with me ....... finaly a endo slash specialist of many - this Dr is brilliant .....any advice my way?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
