Crohn's disease is a systemic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) of unknown cause, that results in chronic inflammation of the intestinal tract. I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and all you are going through. I think it's great that you are taking a year off from school to focus on getting your health back on track. Is the book you are referring to by Dr. David Klein? I think that is the same book that I am reading. I am a bit skeptical of his theories - he seems pretty intense about living an all-vegan lifestyle to cure colitis, which I don't necessarily believe is true. But hey, it obviously worked for him so he must be doing something right! I definitely think that resting, getting plenty of sleep, and eating well can do wonders for you. Please keep us posted as to how you are progressing. I was only diagnosed last December and am still trying to figure out how to get back on track....I am sick of living this life - it's not fair! Hopefully we can all find something that helps us get well.
Take care,
Steph
ya im talking about that book. there is another book by a guy called paul nison which claims to cure crohns and ulcerative colitis by a raw diet.
im going to give it a go.
what i dont understand is that if diet caused the illness why dont much more people get the illness. i think that other factors like not chewing properly and emotional stress/anxiety also contribute. my plan is to recover by using a raw diet and then after eliminating anxiety start eating meat(although i may become vegetarian) and dairy again and chewing properly, continue getting enough sleep etc
basically i think that an unbalanced diet and too much stress and little sleep gave me the disease. so if i let my colon heal and then eliminate the factors which gave me the illness by eating healthily and getting enough sleep and getting rid of the anxiety neurosis which i suffer from then i will be cured.
this is my plan, im even taking a year out of university to do it(i was in my final year and it would have been too stressflu).

I was so desperate to add just a tiny bit of fiber to my diet that I drank a teaspoon full of Metamucil. I'm paying for it now.
I hope we all find relief.
