Tired of having to cancel planned events!

Do any of you get tired of having to cancel out on planned events?! We had planned a month or so ago to attend a concert of some very dear friends, and they don't come through very often and of all times for my crohns to kick up it had to be this weekend! I was heartbroken and so disappointed!!
How do you cope and adjust to this disease disrupting our lives and plans??

I wish I had the answer all I can do is understand what you are experiencing. I am the worst. My family has plans to go to Florida in April for vacation. Being on a plane for 5 1/2 hours still in a flare has already cause me anxiety that I will not be attending. I know stress or anxiety can cause my UC to stop me from going anywhere. I just have to accept it otherwise it just makes you sad.

This is a subject close to my heart. A year ago my fiance and I made plans to take a cruise and be married on the cruise in March 09. Several months later I became sick again and have been dealing with another flare. We had to cancel the cruise of course. I was starting to feel better a month ago and we made plans to go to Arizona (and be married), and then the flare got worse. He doesn't think I should travel and I am just so disappointed about putting off our marriage plans. We're not kids (58 & 70). Yes, it makes you sad. We've waited a long time to be together, and now this damn CD is getting in the way of our plans.

I was not able to attend my daughter's wedding, which was in Italy way out in the sticks, 1 1/2 hr drive south of Naples.

And the other daughter had hers at a museum 45 min from the hotel; I could not eat a thing at it or even drink water. Because I would have had a problem getting back to the hotel afterwards, without an accident.

What really irks me is when people who should know better will not make adjustments that do not really cost them anything, to allow a loved one to attend events or be as close to "normal" at them as the others get to be.
