Remistart Program

I signed my son up for the Remistart program but someone told me that when they reimburse me for the Remicade treatment it goes back to my insurance company and is credited against my deductible meaning that I don't really get the discount and just have to pay full price for the next treatment. If that is the case then it makes no sense to go through to hassle of even getting the reimbursement.

Is anyone else here on the Remistart program and can you tell me if it is me who gets the reimbursement or my insurance company?

I am in the Remistart program and it has been a life saver for me. The way it works is that you go to an outpatient facility to receive your infusions. They will bill your insurance for your procedure. Then the facility (andy you) receive the EOB from your insurance detailing what is paid by insurance, what goes to your deductible, and what is owed by you. The facility will wright off the deductible amount. Then, if you are part of remistart and the facility has your 'debit' card from Remistart, the facility requests the amount you owe from Remistart. Remistart adds that amount to your card and the facility is paid.

At least that is how they do it at the facility that I receive my infusion from.

If you are going to do Remicade get on Remistart. It is the only way that I can afford the Remicade.
