This is my first time using one of these sites, but I believe I've found what will really help get the additional support that I need.

I am wondering if any of you have experienced similiar problems of acne breakouts casued by prednisone. I've never really had bad acne in the past but the last few flare ups of UC where I have had to go on prednisone my face has broken out for some time. I know its temporary and will go away, but it still makes me pretty selfconcious especially working in a busy office during the week and doing anything social on the weekends.

Yeah, had the same thing. I would get the worst acne I'd ever had in my life on my rounds of Prednisone. The regular acne products still work, though they usually aren't as effective, since they have something provoking the acne.

I went from looking every ounce the military fit type to looking like I'd stayed an extra few years living in my parents' basement playing video games and eating Doritos, too. Moon face, swollen stomach... all that jazz.

Oh yeah, I've got that going on now. Some on my face, bit my back is awful, it's really a bad time to be wearing swimsuits and summer clothes. I've been trying Neutrogena Body Wash for acne. It' works a bit, but you really need to soap up and then let it sit on the area for 5 or 10 minutes or so. Then when you get out of the shower, dry off and use a toner(Neutrogena has one for acne too) on the area and let it air dry. My friend is and aesthetician and told me to do this and it has really helped. For you GUYS, this stuff can be bought at Walgrrens or Wal-Mart in the skin care or makeup areas (sorry, you can ac like it's for your girlfriend ;O) I bought a little spray bottle in the travel container area to put the toner in, so that I could get it on my back. It's worth a try! Then you should always use a moisturizer after because it helps keep down the irritation,. Good luck!

Yep, every time I've had to go on Prednisone I break out like crazy. Other than that, I have great skin. Sorry you're having to deal with it!

Yeah, not looking forward to it. Right now I'm good but that is because I'm on a higher end dosage of the Prednisone so I know once I start to come off it in the coming weeks the acne is going to come back. Oddly enough it just has affected my face. Oh well just gotta deal wit it. Thanks guys.
