Pat,

Usually the MRI and imagery from the radiology department needs to be read and translated (sometimes show to the doctor) by the technician, and then given to the doctor with the report. I'd keep calling, and put an urgency on this.... don't let them shuffle you down to the bottom of the pile.

It's HIS life afterall.... NOT the Doctor's.... So keep on it!!

Thanks Nick, It is so frustrating because they told us 5 days!!! Everytime the phone rings I wonder if "this is the MRI call". Pat is cooler about things, but as the wife, yup, I panic.

It's sad... that they're either TOO BUSY, or just not concerned about someone's fate and life....

Maybe.... either call the doctor directly, and see.... or.... FIND A NEW DOCTOR.... right?

I'd also suggest putting a bug in your doctor to do the contrast scan... CT scan.... with some sort of 'contrast' solution such as barium to see if there is perforation, leakage, blockage, strictures, fistulas... whatever stage in CD or UC Pat is in....

MRI I don't recall would show too much unless a 'contrast' was injected in him.... or an enema with the solution... or he swallowed the solution stuff....

Ok... that's all I wanted to say.... in the meantime... you're doing a good job!!! Keep his spirits up.... know that you can always count on yourselves to get each other through things!!

But the MRI was on his head and neck to maybe give an idea why he sometimes is wobbly walking. It really started around the time he was using the Humira. Thanks Nick. Wendy PS
His original appointment was August, he only go in thru an cancellation and ths is thru a clinic Dr, not even his GI!

My apologies! I thought the MRI was for his intestines.

Dizzy and light-headed feelings..... check his blood count, red blood cells.... check his electrolyte balance....

Maybe you could 'ease' the activity he gets.... start with just sitting up for a few minutes.... get adjusted.... move across the room and back to the bed, etc.... and as he gets better or has more confidence... try other activities, walking down the street or something... you know? But in moderation... and with something to grab on to in case he loses his balance or becomes too dizzy...

You could try certain foods.... potassium rich foods to help with hydration and balance of his electrolytes if he's slow....

Could be an inner ear infection that's causing the imbalance.... I don't know.... it's a range of things it COULD be.....

I don't have much to go on here....

He hasn't stopped working thru all this, he's has CD for years. Of course u would assume the MRI was the gut area. Where do u live? Wendy

My experience is the doctor has the MRI within a day. The same day the MRI is done it is viewed by the radioligist and results are issued usually by fax to the doctor. If they are a connected network it can be viewed right on the computer in the doctors office. I would be calling and getting answers. Good Luck

Yes, this is the frustrating thing. pat asked the clinin yesterday if it could be mis-filed, of course that was a no! That's when he asked them to call the hospital, the agreed but we haven't heard yet. Odd thing too is that his regulat GP, as well as the GI were supposed to get copies. Other than being up all night some nights in the washroom, he is feeling pretty good. He teaches adults so he has to be alert for them. He will sleep for 1-3 hours when he gets home, 4 hour work days, so that helps when he is up a lot at night. He never complains. He is also insulin dependant, has had one ear blocked since before Christmas, has had Bells Palsy twice etc etc. He is a trooper and a keeper!

I had my 1st Brain MRI results within 5-7 days. And it was just as expected.... Multiple Sclerosis..... not a surprise since 2 of my sisters were already DXed with this 'fun' disease. Your Doc may be looking at this also but it should NOT be taking so long......

I have CD along with the MS & also 1 or 2 other autoimmune diseases as do my sisters... brother died of ALS (autoimmune) dad had RA (autoimmune) so it stands to reason to say if you have one you may have other autoimmune diseases going on there. I HOPE NOT for your hubbys sake & YOURS....

He called his GP's office yesterday an they haven't heard either. We are just going to forget about it. Thanks for your reply.

MRI result day tomorrow, Monday. Pat called the hospital directly, then the clinic who had the hospital fax the results 2 days ago, Friday. Of course the Dr wasn't there, hence the appointment tomorrow. Good thoughts for us please. Wendy

Ok so we got the MRI results 2 days ago. It is "damage in the nervous system". Of course not what we were expecting to hear. Is this from Humira??? Who knows. Similar symptoms to MS, but not MS. He will go to an MS clinic as there is a med to help/fix/? MS now, says the Dr. Who knows what to believe any more. Thanks to my DS friends for listening.
