Hello my husband was just dianosed with Crohns or inflammatory bowel, they are not sure yet because he is too inflammed for the scope they have him on antibiotics and a blan diet to get him calmed down
My question is how can I be supportive to him? Seems as if we have been delt a bad hand recently. I was just dianosed a couple of weeks ago with a translocation of chromosomes which causes miscarrage I have a 25% chance of having a child, now he is told if we do have a child he can pass this on as well.
I feel he is stressed but doesnt know how to express that. He has been so good to me and now I want to return the favor!
I just want to know is there certain food to buy to prevent recurrence? What can I do to help him, I need support to offer support and I know he most likley wont sign up for DS but Ill try to encourage that too :)
Any suggestions would be helpful!

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
I'm sorry about your diagnosis as well as your husband's. Unfortunately it seems when it rains it pours -- you know? That's how it was in my life too. I have a 10-year old daughter who was diagnosed last Christmas with Crohn's Disease.
Really, the best place to find information on Inflammatory Bowel Disease including Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis is to check out the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Their website is www.ccfa.org
There is a ton of information there. This is the place I was directed to by my daughter's Pediatric GI to get the best and most accurate information about the disease.
As for support -- this place is a good one to start. The CCFA also lists support groups that may be in your area. I believe you have to go into the state/local CCFA chapters area.
The best thing though is to be there for your husband as he's been there for you. Remember that while IBD is a chronic disease, it can be put into remission and people living with it can live very normal lives thanks to new medicines. Just keep in mind that getting to remission can be a lengthy process so be patient. It's been 10-months since my daughter's diagnosis and after months of different meds -- only now has her doctor found what works for her to keep her Crohn's under control.
So keep the faith -- it will happen. If you read more about IBD on the CCFA website I'm sure you'll probably come up with more specific questions that people here on DS can help you with.
Good luck with your quest for information. Knowledge is power!
