I have UC and have been having a flare since late April. My Doc had me on Colazal I took the full dose of that for about 6 weeks with no affect. So last Monday he put me on predinisone, 40 mg tappering off by 10 mg every 2 weeks so I will be on it for about 8 - 10 weeks or so. So I have a couple a of questions. First the pred does not seem to bother me much but I wanted to know what has been everyone experience on turn around time for there to be a noticeable difference in my symptoms. Second what else is recommended, luckily this is my first flare since I was diagnosed 3 years. I had been doing some looking on what foods may or may not be good, and this week started cutting out dairy, high fat, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, high fiber. I know there is not a one size fits all, I just want to see what has worked well for others and in what time frames. Thanks for any advice you can give.
