I have never experienced that, but I have a girlfriend that has what she calls a "pace maker" in her bowels...somewhere because of issues just like that. She doesn't have UC or CD, and I can't remember off hand what her actual problem is called....but I will try to find out!

I hope you get better! I can only imagine the pain you were/are in!

I spent three weeks in the hospital in September, I had something like that, only I had no pain, no nothing! I would not eat as I felt so full, I lost so much weight in a short peroid of time that the doctors said if I lost one more pound I would run the risk of maybe heart failure, anyway with the help of steroids and many bags of TPN I am still here, they wanted me to stay until the end of October but I THREW A FIT TO COME HOME! I have gained from 82 pounds to 105 (I think) scales all read different. Anyway my stomach just would not let me eat, now I can't stop eating. The whole ordeal was so weird, I have never had this in the 23 years that I have had crohns/UC, all I done was sleep and had a high fever, I wonder what next.

I was released on Friday as alot of you already know. My problem was the same. I kept telling the doctors and nurses that I did not feel "normal" down there. They said, "You have Crohn's, your not going to!" But I just could not get them to understand what I meant. That was it though. My bowels were asleep. My stomach and all cramped and sent me screamin for Morphine. But I never felt an urge to go even once. The did a NGTube on me and that saved me. It was uncomfortable and really sucked lol. But praise God for the relief. I was so messed up I could not pass gas and the E ray showed me filled up under my chest with gas. OHHHH horrible pain. But, yes that is what they called it for me too. Revamping my maintence meds (about 60 pills a day) and adding a rediculous dose of Prednizone and I was sent home happy and able to "go"

I hear you, been there and no one can understand if they go through it themselves. The only thing that helps me is Laculose (is a real syrpy stuff. Am in agony day I take it and sometimes next, but at least it finally seems to get things "going" down there.

Yes the Laculose will keep you on the toilet, its awful..and I didn't make it once or twice and the smell it makes your poop have...yuck!

LOL I had to laugh at your response, Marcie. I was watching the grandkids today- one is 20 mths old and the other will be 3 Oct. 14. Well, they sure keep you going those two. I said "Grandma has to toot" The poor younger one was right in rang she had the nasty look on her face. Oh, my it did stink. The 3 yr old laughed and plugged her nose.

LOL, I had to let a nurse see my (POOP) before they would release me from the hospital, so they brought me in some of the Laculose and made me take some, I only drank a little, they heated it so it was runny, well when I went and had formed stool I was so ashamed of the smell I told the nurse it was terrible and she took a quick look and hurried out..I don't blame her, on her way out the door she said, you don't have to call us on the next one, this will be enough to report to the doctor! I got tickled because right after she left the cleaning lady came in and said she would be back later, (claimed she had a special call to get a room ready) but I know better, she couldn't handle the smell...My whole room was filled with that lovely aroma, glad it was a private room...

LOL Marcie, oh my, I laughed so much when I read your post I almost peed myself! You know, you reminded me of something that happened to me when I had just turned 13 on a trip to Nova Scotia with my parents. I had my appendix out. Wierd about fate, we just happened to stop by a retired doctor friend of my grandmother's. I went for a walk with the dog. I kept institing I just had a sore tummy. We were going to go on the Cabot Trail the next day (no doctor, hospital for miles and miles).
Anyway, now to the funny part. I was in a room with 3 ladies. There was this big woman beside me that had an obvious gas problem. I don't know exactly what they had done to her or what her condition was but she just farted and farted and oh myyyyyy the gassssss!!! (her butt was faced my way)

Yes the farts and poop with crohn's with taking all sorts of meds will make even your own self sick! That stuff just don't stop, I told them no way was I going to drink that whole little cup, the smell would have gone to all six floors of that hospital! I was hoping like crazy that I didn't get company until the aroma had died down, I spayed that butt spay that they give you in your care bucket, (its to get the sticky do-do off that stuff leaves behind, you get raw trying to get it all off, I know this is gross but its the truth, I was glad that I had a tub and was (not suppost to get in because of my feeding tube) but hey..I didn't want my panties stuck to my butt! sorry you got farted on, its awful when you can't get away from it..when I got home I told everyone in the house to stay clear of the front bathroom and use the other...I was so ashamed of the smell, lite scented candles to calm the terrible smell that I know would drift through the house! I gag when I think about taking anymore of that mess, it has a sicking taste, to me at least.
