I guess I should start by saying I'm new to the Crohn's disease support group, but not new to daily strength. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2004 at age 17 after surgery for meckles diverticulitis and to remove my appendix.
I was on Pentasa until January of 2009 when my doctor decided to try an oral chemo drug before resorting to surgery. I was referred to a surgeon in April 2009, but hadn't decided on having surgery yet. In July I developed MS, and magically all of the horrible cramping stopped the day I woke up and couldn't walk.
I have gone a year symptom free from Crohn's disease. It has been great. However, in the past 2 weeks I have been experiencing pain in my abdomen.
This pain is located in a different part though, it used to be just above my right hip bone, but now it is just below my breast bone. I feel fine most of the day, and even feel alright when I'm eating, with just minimal discomfort. However, in the middle of the night I wake up in horrible pain. I've been waking up around 3 or 4 am in pain. The pain is much different than any pain I have experienced with Crohn's disease before. It is an unrelenting pain.
I have a feeling that this may be a peptic ulcer. I will ask my gastroenterologist about it, but I won't be seeing him for over a month.
Any insight that anyone can proved will be very helpful.

Could this pain be a side effect from any of the medication you are on for your MS?
I have severe Crohns and have a ulcer in my stomach, the pain is different, both of which needs immediate medical attention through!
Could you not get seen by your doc sooner?
