Hi there and sorry to hear about your diagnosis....I have colitis not crohns but I remember I used to get bloated also after eating...Since Ive had this disease for over 5 years now Ive learned a few tricks...one thing that definately helped is chewing my food more...I read somewhere you do about 50% of digestion in the mouth so the more you chew the easier you digest....

also meds are very important...I see you are on flagyl....I personally dont have any experience with that drug but sulfasalazine has worked for me as a maintenance drug...also prednisone helped get my symptoms in check

i've been what you are experiencing and it was because the large colon that connects with small had narrowed and food wasn't getting through which caused back up in stomach. i had surgery and they took that part out. i've taken flagyll (antibiotic) with cipro and it helped alot. it seems they work well together. just don't eat anything that is hard to digest. low residue diet

Thanks so much for the input -- I think you are pretty spot on dniteowl. I go in for my first endo/colonoscopy on Tuesday to confirm the diagnosis. I am like so not looking forward to it. I also had to go take three different blood tests to confirm it as well. This has came as a shock to me and my family and I am not dealing with it very well. It's making me quite depressed since I am only nineteen and I am having this problem.

i know i hate that this is a young persons disease. and your life has been put upside down. on the other hand you are young and can bounce back better than me. and you will bounce back no matter what it takes. colonoscopy nots so bad. drinking the crap to get one is. pretty much they put stuff in your arm and talking to you and the next thing you know it's over and you don't know they started. lol i ask her when they were going to take me to the room to get it and she laughed and said it was over. first one was the same. then you start figuring out what you can't have like milk or milk products. take calcium so it won't ruin your teeth and bones. b-12 is great. i take magnesium sometimes. vit c from foods. i have a slice of orange everyday. and this is on top of medicine. but it should help not having so much trouble. it won't take long to figure out what foods cause you trouble. i am 75% normal now so you can get therebut you will never be able to eat those foods again. and don't drink carbonated drinks or acidity drinks or food. good luck and keep reading this group you can find out alot of stuff.
