Hi all! I am reaching out to you to see if you could have any helpful advice in what I am going through. I am 22 years old and for the past few years i have had awful bathroom problems that seem to get worse. I constantly am going to the bathroom everytime after i eat...usually diarrhea but almost always poop...depends what i eat. it has become so bad that the past year and a half i have went in my pants 5 times because i cannot hold it. i would have more accidents but ia m lucky enough to be near a restroom. i am just so tired of everytime ie at sitting on the toilet for an hour.

so i finally went to the doctors Monday and it went form irritatable bowel, to maybe celiac, and it is neither so now iam back to square one wondering what could be wrong with me! someone please let me know if they have experienced this or have known someone going through these issues.

i even find myself for the past year vomiting after i eat SOMETIMES bc i do not want to be on the toilet all day/night or feeling like crap.

any advice?

Even though they tested you for Celiacs Disease and your test came out negative for it, you can still have something called a "sensitivity." I have ulcerative colitis and I never thought I would have anything like that, however I researched and found that a lot of people who have stomach issues have gluten sensitivities. I was tested for it when I was first diagnosed with colitis but it came out negative. I decided two months ago to go on a gluten free diet to see if it makes a difference and I felt better on it! I eat organic foods, especially eating a banana a day because its binding and keeps your number 2 "more together." Bananas are my best friend and so is rice and dry chicken. The more simple and dry you eat the better for you when your stomach is bothering you. You may have a gluten sensitivity like me and not even know it! I didn't know for years! The best thing you can do is eliminate the gluten for a month and see if you feel better. My boyfriend has IBS and he is also lactose intolerant, so you could have a lactose sensitivity as well.

The Celiac test is not a conclusive test. The only way to definitely diagnose/rule out Celiac disease is with a biopsy during a colonoscopy.

Have they done any tests on you? Do they have an idea what you're dealing with? Sometimes it could be a bacteria in the gut - they should be able to narrow it down. Keep a food journal daily for about 2 to 3 weeks - keep track of of what you eat & drink for each meal and snacking too - Vitamins? Sometimes even the wrong amount of vitamins can reek havic... mark down each day what your bathroom issues are as well - You should be able to see a pattern. Hope that helps you get started on tracking your issue. Good luck

I've had the same symptoms, and was diag'd with Colitis. best bet - go see a GI, perhaps get a colonoscopy. Eating sucks when you have a flare up, you're afraid of what will happen! Good Luck!

Have you seen a GI? Ever had a colonoscopy? If not you should definitely see a GI and find out for sure exactly what you have. The advice about the food journal is good and so is the advice about eating very plain until you find out what's going on. Bananas are always good. Good luck!!

Hey there....

What I've learned from having UC for about 5 years is you gotta be positive, feeling down about it only makes it worse, being positive is key.

The meds I take are salofalk, an antidepressant, and pain medication (percocet), and smoke marijuana daily. I feel I finally found a regimen that works for me and couldn't be happier.
