triple bypass questions

Just had triple bypass done on Jul 16, able to come home last Sunday so figured I'm pretty blessed in that respect.
2 Questions, at least to start with.
1. Had a stent put in about 9-10 years ago and while I did not become the health fanatic they always hope you will, I did clean up my act Quite a bit. When at Dr and cardiologist I am always honest about my behavior and how I feel. So. question is" should this type of surgery be an emergency I my case, due to all the monitoring etc I receive on an ongoing basis. Or am I the victim of poor doctoring..
2. question I was out of hospital in less than a week which is apparently very good. Any thoughts on recovery times, time to being able to drive etc.

Your emergency surgery is not necessarily due to poor medical practices, there are many reasons this could have been a surprise. However, the only important fact here is that you have lost confidence in your medical team's competence. That's usually a heads up to find a new team.

The norm here is to try and eject CABG patients from the hospital within 5 - 7 days. Recovery varies by the individual. Take it as it comes, and don't push or worry about whether your recovery meets those of someone else.

Not sure what you mean. But if you mean your blocked arteries should have been picked up earlier by your team then that raises many issues.
There is no real way that could be discovered unless you had symptoms. For many reasons tests are not carried out without good reason, ie. symptoms. There is much misunderstanding about this issue. Too big an issue to discuss here.

As far as recovery goes, Robo sums it it up perfectly.

You can look forward to the future with a lot of optimism. Ps driving will be decided by your cardiologist or surgeon so ask them.

I have gone through this process and my doctor strictly asked me to avoid driving or any hectic work for at least one month!
So i will suggest you to take complete bed rest for one month so you can recover soon .Its a good thing that you stayed in hospital for less then a week!
