Coronary heart disease is the end result of the accumulation of plaques within the walls of the arteries. Well, I take Lipitor. I never had a problem with cholesterol until 3 years ago. Personally, I believe mine is related to genetic and I had gained 30 lbs from accidents. My plan is to lose the weight, exercise more, I am already eating better and try a natural approach like Omega's especially Krill Oil to lower my triglycerides. I've head coq10 is good also.
I already have muscle aches from fibro so it's hard for me to differentiate although I have to say when I first started it, I had a flare for a while. Now my body is used to it. My doc knows I want to get off it but for me I have a double bonus because it also lowers my sed rate which is a diagnostic for inflammation. That's especially bad for my small vessel disease. All I know is now all my numbers are very good and my cardiologist is very happy.....which makes ME very happy ;)
I absolutely believe it is. My Father put this image in my mind....he said they did a dye test while someone ate a big mac and fries and it showed the level of fat in the blood. He said it was so gross because most of it was fat and it looked like the fat that settles in the fridge when you are making gravy or such. Imagine your blood being backedup like a clogged sink with all that fat, gross gross gross. That's what causes blocked arteries because that crap sticks to the sides of the vessels permanently.
I do believe there is new thinking on how inflammation and the american diet of processed food with high sugar is more of a concern than the fat and I do believe that. But personally, I don't want to risk my life thinking I am the one that's right. I didn't go to med school.
If you have problems with tryglicerides... my mom dropped her level from the mid 300's to normal within a year using six tablespoons of ground flax seed spaced through the day. she would mix it with soy milk.
