Coronary Heart Disease Support Group
Coronary heart disease is the end result of the accumulation of plaques within the walls of the arteries. While the symptoms and signs of coronary heart disease are noticable in the advanced state of disease, most with coronary heart disease show no evidence of disease for decades as the disease progresses before the first onset of symptoms, often a "sudden" heart attack,...
Time for some psychotherapy, don't you think? Oh, and BTW, can I come along?
Why it's my illness not his!!!!!!! Why in all Heaven does he has to speak for me? It's like do I know myself or what? He thinks I don't talk well, or write well, or anything well.
So why am I still with this guy after 40 something years? I have no real idea....except that is what he does..this is all knew being ill and being taken care of by ones spouse I guess?
I have several other illnesses. And he does too. So what is up with his over protection??? I have no idea.
So please slap your guy wake him up....I yelled at mind some names I can't repeat...after the visit.
of course he got more out of my apt then I did.
LOL
I wonder sometimes
Well I hope you two work it out.
God Bless

I can relate to the child abuse. I was in that situation at a catholic prep school in Great Britain. I won't elaborate. Now if you have a need for a cardiologist, there are social programs that can hook you up with some of the best in your area. The hypocratic oath dictates that they are obligated to see welfare cases with their caseload. If you can afford, you pay a co-pay. If not you don't and they bill what medicare or medicaide aloows for reimbursement.
That is the agreement they have with thses social programs. For them to disuade you and strong arm you is sacriligeous. Do not stand for it. Obtain a social advocate that will speak and act on your behalf.
Sad thruth is, is that it is cheaper to take care of us if we are dead. We are then just the cost of fuel to turn us back to ashes for our families to collect and disburse as seen fit.
So sad. Start by not standing for "No' as an answer. Demand to be seen. Go to the ER and get admitted and talk there to a social worker who will see to it that you recieve quality follow-up care. Desert Bee can speak better on this. She was wrapped up in a whirlwind system for sometime but has seemed, with perseverence to wade through it successfully.
Bee is our dear friend and a quality contributor to this heart attack discussion thread. I enjoy her posts and she has given me courage where there seemed to be no hope left. Stay tuned here. Be a descript as you can and let these fine cardiac educated folks help you through this in order to make your new situation less stressful. My Gosh stress alone is enough to bring on another "Cardiac Event". So develop a 'Don't take No" attitude and own your health issues and demand to get well. Mind us all, that we also have a responsibility to own our own heath issues to partner with medicine to gain our heart health back. A doctor is more apt to partner with you if he sees that you are actively participating in your own recovery. I can personally attest to that. By oath they are bound to help you recover. It solidifies their committment when you help them by listening to their suggestions and enter a dialogue with the doctor to make you well.

Welcome. Along with our other major Coronary Artery's the LAD (Lower Descending Artery) is probably the most important as it's occlusision quite often is accompanied by Sudden Death. In fact greater than 1 in 2 succumb to this arterys's total occlusion and is aptly called the 'Widow Maker' due to the fact that it is the main supplier of oxygenated blodd to our Left Ventricle. This LV's main prupose is to supply oxygenated blod, not only to this vital chamber but to all other areas of our body, i.e. vital organs (kidney, Liver, Brain, Muscles etc.) its failure is often failure is closely associaated eith is accompanied by some pressure in and accross the chest, some nausea, sweating, achiness across the back of the chest and or jaw pain and numbness and aching in and around the left shoulder and left arm to the fingers and hand. It can also show absolutely no symptoms, hence 'Sudden Heart Attack' usually accompanied with a fatality.
Meds are administed as beta blockers, ace inhibitors, nitrobased vaso dilator and or time releaed nitro based formulatios which are designed to act over time for chronic unstable angina categories. Plavix, aspirin also assist in arterial tendencies to blockages. Take these meds as directed initially and then enter a partnership with your 'Cardiologist' to find a healthy mix of 'Spirit, Attitude and Medical Science.
Welcome again,
My Best Regrads,
Just Joe
Its' hard to see him having a good time, then angina hits. Just a reminder of mortality. With our recent past history, it's made this harder. I can understand how chronic health issues can drive up divorce rates.Illness drives stress and stress creates tension. I wish I had found this group earlier, I would have been here.
It's hard to be patient when you deal with another's illness for so long. It feels endless, like it never going to stop or get better. Is the spoiled and paraniod behavior a reflection of fear and depression? Could you speak to him about this, carefully validating him about his feeling? If he feels understood and heard, maybe the behavior will cease.
I wish you and everyone the best.
I am just like the big punching bag and it gets really hard to take lately! He had a heart attack 2 1/2 years ago, a "Widow maker" the doc told me! Very lucky to still have him around. Then he started to not feel so good again and we went to the ER for chest pain. NO heart attack, so they gave him some nitro and wanted to keep him for a stress test, hubby said no.
I called the doc the next morning to ask for a referal for a stress test, I set it up and off he went!
A couple weeks later, we get a letter saying he must see a cardio ASAP. Couldn't get in to see one for almost a month. Ended up he needed another stent adding to the 2 he already had and they extended one he already had.
So he goes back to work and falls flat on his face from chest pain.......he is still short of breath no matter if he just gets off the couch to go pee. I understand how hard this must be on him and we lose our insurance on the 5th of Nov, so since his cardio appt is on the 11th. Nothing we can do about it.
He has been on STD for almost 3 months now and is trying for LTD , but we keep getting all kinds of answers as to what we may or may not have to go through for it. We will have to borrow some money for a relative, but we need to know how much we need to borrow. Most stuff I have found said getting approved for LTD usually only takes about two weeks before you get your first monthly LTD check, but then others have said it can take up to 8 weeks. well hell if it takes 8 weeks, we will be homeless living in his SUV!
I know right now he has alot on his plate and he worries about my illness as well, but his yelling at me constantly, it is making my illness 100 times worse!
I am trying to talk him into going to the ER, letting them keep him over night and then do a stress test and get it done right now, before we lose out insurance, but he doesn't seem to concerned....so not sure if he just thinks he is superman or what?
His mom i s a sweet lady and will help us with money, but every once in a while will bring up "we will just have to get of all the cats except his" and "move in with his mother in California, which I HATE! I lived with her for 6 months and I cannot do it again.
I realize right now there is aloat alot alot of stress on him and fear, but from the time he had his heart attack and the 2nd episode it is constant yelling, constant nito pills, he just acts as if he would rather die! I just don't know what to do anymore?
Thanks for letting me vent, I didn't know where else to turn?
