Yes, they cannot figure out why his blood sugar has jumped so much. So more tests. His spirits are good and his sense of humor is back. That's a good sign.

Wonder if the blood sugar spike is related to the higher steroids he's on while in the ICU.. Mine go crazy ( I never otherwise have blood sugar problems) and when in ICU I always end up getting insulin shots due to the steroids.. but the ICU folks know this side effect. so I'm sure their monitoring it.

I haven't had a chance to say hello to Floyd yet, so it's good to hear he's coming around.

You would Gee haw with him Steven he is a good ole boy...we all luv him.

Update on Floyd. Talked to him a few minutes ago finally. My timing is always bad. First call Physical Therapy, second call treatment on legs. He always complained I only called when he was in the bathroom. Anyway, He is improving slowly. They are trying to get him up some. He is still having trouble keeping his O2 levels up without cpak mask. I am trying to find out if the hospital has Wifi. They said he could have his cell phone though. I will try to take it today or tomarrow.

Forgot to say that my son showed me how to bring the page of all your posts to Floyd even if we don't have wifi. I know he will be as touched as I was with them. You all are wonderful friends.

Thanks for the update..sure hope he can have his "puter"..computing with friends is therapy..LOL

Tell him to please try and not "race" to get off the Capa/Bipap... it only makes recovery longer! He knows I've learned this lesson the hard way..
So go with the flow (lol) Floyd.. let your lungs, muscles and energy appreciate the pap break.. you'll get stronger.. these big flares really take a while to recover from.
You all helped me through mine.. we're here for ya :)!!!!
