I have been slowly making my way towards an Exacerbation that I felt was going to land me in the ER. Well on Tuesday morning it hit. Shortness of breath, dizziness, and chest pains that the emergency inhaler could not settle down. O2 levels were good. After a boat load of test and several doctors with different diagnosis My stress test (almost 6 minutes on the tread mill before I could not breath.) showed heart was good but I have PULMONARY HYPERTENSION.

Do any of you have this? If so What meds or treatments are you on?

Good grief Flash, I don't have this problem, but then I have never been tested for it either. Denny is really up on all these COPD ails, perhaps he can enlighten us.

I am sure they have a pill for this....right?

Oh man.. sounds like you had a really rough time.. and them a treadmill... ICK!!!!!! I'm so sorry!!!!!

Have they done a R heart cath yet? Getting those numbers will give you the most information for the Drs to help you Nod.
Its kinda like the first COPD diagnosis... until you get the complete testing done you never really know where and what level you have and the management is from small changes to bigger meds.

Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time. I don't know if i have it, but I've had those symptoms many times, and i would never make 6 min on a treadmill. I would most likely tell them to go ef themselves.
I hope you're feeling better now, and maybe they do have a med for this specific condition.

Grannie, think blood thinners are used to slow it down.
dozy, Have not had a rIght heart cath yet. will be seeing Dr on 15th.
Puff, was damn proud of myself for lasting that long.

You should be proud Nod for lasting that long, I couldn't. Good luck with the Doc on the 15th, hope he can fix whatever it is. Hope you feel better soon.

So sorry for all that!! I'm impressed with the treadmill too!! You kicked butt!! What a horrible time you have had. Hope you are feeling better & on the 15th get good news!!!!

Home from doctor visit. Needs more test to determine severity. Getting kind of frustrated and a tad depressed.

EKG, Pulmonary Function Test and Six Minute Walk. They are scheduling the test and will call me sometime tomorrow with date and times.

OK, EKG and the PFT hopefully you can ace, that 6 minute walk now that is a stretch, I could not do it. Let us know your results. In the mean time, get some rest and relax. It will be what it is.

Hang in there Nod... remember back in the day how long it took for the Drs to figure out we had COPD.. and all the tests. As you go through all this, the biggest thing is how are you feeling now?
Take it easy, rest and gear up for the up coming tests- the answers will come but till then know tons of love and hugs are sent your way.
