Nice meeting you, Mr Puff. I'll pass on any SA road kill I may come across - the 2-legged variety are tough as nails and not recommended .....:-O
Ingredients
1 Elephant
10 Warthog
100 kilogram tomatoes
half ton potatoes
2 bags onions
100 kilogram salt
1 wheelbarrow onions (heaped)
10 liter vinegar
20 liter chutney
4 Guineafowl
Method
Hunt the elephant, warthog and guineafowl. Hang guineafowl to ripen. Cut elephant into edible chunks, (will take about a month). Boil the warthog with other ingredients (except guineafowl) till nice and juicy. Now boil elephant chunks over high flames till tender. (will take about 4 weeks) and add everything together. Boil for another 5 to 7 days.
Produces about 3,500 helpings.
Oh well, whether here, there or anywhere friends are friends so I'm happy to be here in your group and look forward to the silly side of life. May, I gather you have quit? They say it's neve too late so I wish you a bunch of strength and power to keep up the effort .... I'll consult the local witch doctor and ask her to throw the bones for you. :-)
I don't think anyone that posts smokes, I been quit 8 years and 3 months, I still go to the Smoking and Recovery Board to add a little support to the quitters. Ima, MsBlank and Matberry I know are also quit.
Sometimes I wish I had a witch doctor I get mad at Dr. Dreamy (my internist)...LOL
I'm quit 3+ years.....
I had a bad mix of chemicals over the years. Working at the funeral home and hairdressing chemicals....Whewie!!!!!
On the door of the prep room at the funeral home there is a sign posted to enter the room at your own risk as cancer causing agents used. I think I spent the past 38 years high from all the chemicals exposed to.....but my guess is cigarette smoking and embalming fluids were the worst.
My dad had COPD.....got it 40 years after he quit smoking and has since passed away.....very sad :(
I'm imagining you with a British accent :)
I don't suppose they have Pulmonary Rehab any where near you, that would be something to ask that dim doctor you spoke of.
Hello Jazz, Canada has always appealed to me and from what I've seen on the Just for Laughs Gags channel, the people seem to be so friendly, trusting and tolerant. But what's with all those public outhouses on every corner ... is this general practice there? Here, they'd more than likely be used for shag parlours.
Yes, South Africa is divided into provinces, the smallest being KwaZulu Natal where I live, bordered by the Indian Ocean on the east and Drakensberg Mountains on the west. I live in the midlands about an hour's drive from the coast and just far enough from the mountains to miss the snow.
Hahaha, MsBlank, I was once reprimanded by my boss to stop showing my unmentionables in public (I was caught with my bloomers around my knees while showing the office girls a nasty bruise on my butt) .... got him hot and heavy.
Yes chemicals and cigarettes are partners in crime. Embalming fluid ... eeeuw, that reminds me of formaldahyde we used in zoology class. Another baddie is the hairdresser ... nowadays I lay into my hair with my dressmaking scissors ... to heck what the back looks like, just so long as it's OK in front. :-)
And I'm told that the SA accent is more like Aussie / Kiwi than British, although the New Zealanders couldn't get enough of my accent when were last there. So, I suppose it's quite distinctive, but definitely not posh. We have such a diverse population and 11 official languages - my home language is English, my daughter's in-laws speak Afrikaans and my black staff speak Zulu. which I kinda understand in pidgin form.
Good grief, I'm taking up all your time - should actually start a new thread - if only there was a way I could put pictures into my posts I could show you some really nice pictures. Oh well, Granny will only drool over them and Mr Puff wiill come running with his cook pot.
Must let my keyboard cool down and get stuck into some bootees to match the baby's jersey ... just needs a little beanie to complete the outfit. Here's saying cheers for now. See ya soon. Take care all. xx
