Wheezing

Good Morning!  Could anyone tell me why I don't wheeze lying down but only when I am upright?  Also I am So tired all the time I could sleep all day.  Anyone have any ideas for that?  I hope you are all having a good day.

Dotty - I wish someone had responded with the answer - I've had the same problem. Lying down, my lungs are happily & quietly doing their thing. it's when I sit up that my lungs show their disapproval ...vocally.

I'm so sorry, it's because all the people with the answers have passed away or left this site, DS sabotaged us and ruined the site. This site was used for support and without the support, all the information has been erased and 2 important members have died.

Common sign of narrowing of your bronchial tubes because of Emphysema mainly.....This also causes you to feel shortness of breath......Usually attending some sort of Pulmonary Rehab or Exercise Routine will help address this......or learn Purse Lip Breathing to get rid of excess carbon dioxide.....

If wheezing or snoring sounds when asleep it could be Sleep Apnea, so you need to see a Pulmonary Doctor and check if you need a Sleep Test Done...

Sorry the tiredness is Fatigue caused by your heart putting in so much extra work to keep you breathing and active, it gets you tired easily....Try a few nanny naps during the day and don't rush too much.......Take things at your own pace......xxxx

At 87, with 10 years of emphysema behind me, I'm so tired, it is pure Hell trying to get out of bed. I try to shower,dress, brush my hair and go outside, if just to sit on the porch and watch the birds. Sometimes I go back to sleep in the chair out there, but at least, I got out of bed.

Peter, I noticed on another board that you mentioned that Shirley James (Kylee's Nan) had passed. She had her transplant almost 5 years to the date. She did great up until the last few months when she made a trip and apparently got sick and could just never overcome the effects. She was a gutsy person and if anyone could have made it past the "5" years , she would have been the one. We did lose quiet a few DS members after DS went crazy and messed up an otherwise good board. Glad to see you are still doing well and I too am wondering about Jim, I sent him a song just before DS changed and he replied to that.
