UPDATE: 1st March '16.... Finally had my PFT and DLCO done to pass on to NEW Pulmo and repeat Rehab.Info sheet...As expected i dropped 4% since this recent episode....I'm down to 18%....but DLCO is unchanged....Just numbers and i will work hard to get back to 22% my long time baseline.....Another perfect reason that i need the Prednisone daily....if i did i'm sure my condition would have remained stable or improved.....
UPDATE 8th.March,,,,After my recent episodes, i found it really hard to go back and push myself out of my comfort zone, Once i bit the bullet as i feared doing the walk test n being put on suppliment oxygen, i started walking trial 6 min walks n checking oxymeter.(Not including Snowy's need to sniff n water every tree or fence along the way, specially if there was another dog living there)......It was dropping to 92% which never happened before.....7 days later i can get around the block like before with levels at 94%.but quick recovery to normal 98%....Sure i am really SOB at the end but i am so thrilled and full of confidence..The PLB technique that i give credit to..
Thought i would touch base with everyone here.....This is the place that saved me when i was totally lost about this thing COPD

and your DLCO didn't get affected! how wonderful!!
It is my DLCO that has me on 02 & needing to increase 02 each time it declines a couple of percent points.
I was just telling myself I really need to get back on my treadmill as i've been slacking off this winter and i know that isn't good.
You are a great inspiration for me to get off my butt & do some walking!!!
ps. I get a smile on my face thinking of snowy strutting around marking his territory :)
OT again...Jarca you mentioned a long time back about Fibrosis...I just read this and wondered if you knew about it.....

I don't know who hated "the bucket" more; me or the dog.
it has to go past the nose so dog can't lick, but my dog ran into things & couldn't eat or drink with it on, couldn't go out the dog door etc. so i had to take it off & put it back on constantly....a real pain for both of us.
I'm glad snowy is doing better, in USA we use "terramycin" gel for dog eyes & it works great! like all antibiotics, be sure to do it for as many days as vet said or infection can come back; even if it looks cleared up.
I have pulmonary fibrosis & emphysema (not cystic fibrosis)---i'm allergic to the mycins though so I can't take those.
i'm reading up on "Pseudomonas aeruginosa"---interesting.
Years ago I had a dr treat me for swimmers ear & that was one painful disease!!!
geez, Pseudomonas aeruginosa seems to be associated with many diseases===I got 1/2 mile done on my treadmill so now i can surf the web about this Pseudomonas aeruginosa
