Since I'm all for DIY, my first step would be to do a search for making my own. I've also heard of rubbing a dryer sheet over your hair to tame it.

Have you tried things like gels and glosses and other "rub on" products? I find that if I spray even allegedly unscented anything within the confines of a room, I feel I'm in a gas chamber. But I've had no problem with hair products that don't fill the air.

Someone my daughters went to school with used to tame their natural curly hair and flyaways with a spray mist of 50/50 cream rinse and water. They just got a spray bottle that could mist from the dollar store and used their own with their favorite cream rinse.

My hair tends to be very full and fly away and I use a liquid pump product called Bed-Head. You just pump it in your hand, rub your hands together then start rubbing them through your hard. It's pretty much odorless and I use it then flat iron my hair and alllll gone frizzies and fly aways. Walmart has it and you don't need very much of it unless you have really long hair. - Ruthie (aka dollaraudit)
