I quit smoking last September and I'm so glad. The bad news was, I didn't feel any better (big shock). I thought I was going to be running marathons shortly after I quit smoking. Turns out I'm trying to learn how to get up the stairs without gasping for air for the next 5 minutes. (Actually learned how at rehab, some days what I learned works, some days it doesn't.
I do know that I have qualified to move to the next stage to qualify for a trial on pulmonary valves that is being sponsored in our area. What I like about a trial is all the special tests they run to check out what is going on with you by the experts. All the way through the trial you get this enhanced care even if you are ta placebo person.
IF I WAS STILL SMOKING I WOULD NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR ANY TRIALS!!

I didn't feel any better after quitting smoking either.I think we all have good days and bad days it all depends on how advanced our disease is. What pulmonary Valve trails are you referring too? I would really like to know. I have been turned down before because I can't to the six-minute walk.

Wasn't that disappointing to quit smoking and not feel any better. I consoled myself with the fact that at least I was not doing anymore damage.
