A spacer device is something attached to your inhaler, kinda looks like a tube. The object is to get more of the medication into your lungs and using one seems to help.
For myself, I also use a nebulizer, when having an exacerbation. Like Sue, I think it works the best, but it's not as quick nor convenient as an inhaler.
