I am still with everybody in mind, spirit and support. As I stated previously, the LVRC procedure has opened the doors to my life again, I wish nothing but the same to all of you in your endeavors to fight this disease.

Never been a smoker, but I know there is a huge tax on cigs/tobacco products. As I remember, this was to help fund health care for smokers? Cover medical expenses?
Research? I have seen no evidence of that at all-the tax money is going somewhere~ but from what I have read it's not going to those in need due to health problems from smoking. The tax is several times the cost of one pack. (here in CA) There should be a fund for people with such diseases if that is what the tax is for. We all remember a very sweet lady who passed a while back who could not get healthcare till it was way too late. ( a very sweet bear!) I've never forgotten her, and cases like her's are the shame of our healthcare system.
I hope this isn't too much of a rabbit trail, and I could be mistaken about what the tax is for. It's way to much $$, and most likely does not deter smoking from what I have seen among the teen aged .

In NY the tax is highest. The resulting previous revenues were used primarily as a budget balancer. As greedy politicians continued to spend and continued as always to need more,more,and more they naturally raised tax. That caused smokers to buy less and less in NY. Still buying just from other sources.

Bottom line less and less revenue but no matter they never really used to for anything but covering their bad fiscal decisions.
