my ekg tests have always been hormal,had one last july,was normal,started deliresp in aug,ouit after 6 weeks,bad side effects,the only thing i chanded was to take deliresp,now need cataract surgery but have an irregular heart beat,bad drug!!!

daliresp is known for it's many side effects; however many of the side effects are also a side effect of COPD itself.

A couple of years ago HankO had some great links to articles about COPD & the heart. Unfortunately, I lost all my links last year & can't find that one.
Although if you do a search about COPD & Heart, you will probably find a lot of info. about the 2 conditions being "co-morbid" that is more updated than I had.
I started having irregular heartbeats a couple of years ago & I have never taken daliresp.

Is your irregular heartbeat is preventing you from receiving the cataract surgery?
Are the cataracts a side effect of daliresp too?
I hope you can find a good dr that will do the surgery. There have been several people here who have had the surgery & said it was wonderful.

ps. I'm just curious about daliresp; did you loose a bunch of weight or have any psychological problems?
I have heard from others that said they had these side effects of daliresp.
What medications do you take now for your COPD?
(I know my Spiriva has side effects, but it helps me so I take it knowing the risks.)

Don't most of us past a certain age need cataract surgery? That's one treatment that improves things for sure. And irregular heartbeat is pretty common too as far as I know. Not defending drugs. The fewer the better I believe!

I took Daliresp for part of a research study. I went into a bad depression. I am prone anyway. It was scary enough that I quit the study. Symptoms went away.

weight loos from daliresp i feel is from dehydration,i didnt mean dalisresp caused cataracts,but my ekgs have alwas beed normal b4 dalisresp,quit taking it and my irregular heart beat is gettin better,some of the things i attribute to daliresp are,unable to slep mutch,hyper to the polnt of sob,dehydration,moderate depression,i now buy mucas relivef at the dollar tree for a dollar a bottle,has the same ingrediants as metamusal from walgreens

I have heard both good and bad about that drug. I have never tried it, I did ask my doctor about it once and he said NO, to many side effects, . So if you were having all those bad problems and now they are better, be glad you are off it.
But like other folks have said, a lot of side effects listed are just copd. I know prednisone and most steroid use causes cataracts.
