I got the "file not found" but I did find many interesting articles. Looks like a good safe site to me, but I have a Mac, so far no invasion problems.

I bookmarked the "Printable Checklists" page from the left hand menu.
Excellent questions to ask your doctor. If one doesn't have COPD, substitute what ever the condition is. Also has a medication list, and other useful print-outs.

hi,i dont know what stage i am in,i was diagnoised quite a few years ago when i lived up north.i have a puluminary dr.i think was in 90's they told me n pit me on oxygen 3 leaders then,now if i sit n do nothing i not need my 02.2 l when sleep.i am in a motorized wheel chair.can walk not very far.

So sorry yall, I will see if I can find out what went wrong :(

Deanna, im not liking what you are saying.....please go see another pulmonary doc and get a full function test done....The result will give you an idea as to what stage you are........ive known people, myself included who were originally prescribed oxygen when in fact i never needed it as i have a gas exchange issue, commonly known as a ''retainer'' which is true but not true....however it means the same thing as in you can breathe in oxygen but cannot expel the Co2,,,yet get very SOB......but first things first and go get tested...

Deanna, I have to agree with Gwapo. However, where he says Please see I would say You absolutely have to have a PFT, a CT Scan, complete blood work, and a Heart Stress Test.

On the home page for this group you will see a general description of COPD as an umbrella term for a group of respiratory tract diseases that is characterized by airflow obstruction or *limitation* (the latter emphasis is mine). This means two things one there is a variety of diseases that can be characterized as COPD based on symptoms, and second unless the primary morbidity and/or comorbidities are correctly identified any suggested therapy or symptomatic treatment is nothing but a best guess.

Admittedly a best guess delivered by a medical profession is definitely better than what we might come up with, but the fact remains it is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to adequately diagnosis COPD and provide a treatment plan with the tools available during an office visit. Without at least a full PFT as a bare minimum it is still just a guess. You dont need guesses, you need to know.
