Spiriva and Dry Mouth: Recommendations
If you are taking Spiriva and dry mouth occurs, there are some things that you can do to obtain relief. Some of these suggestions include the following:
Avoid drinks with caffeine, such as coffee, tea, and some sodas. Caffeine can dry out the mouth.
Sip water or sugarless drinks often.
Sip water or sugarless drinks during meals. This will make chewing and swallowing easier; it may also improve the taste of food.
Don't use tobacco or alcohol, because they dry out the mouth.
Use a humidifier at night.
Be aware of spicy or salty foods, because they may cause pain in a dry mouth.
Chew sugarless gum or suck on sugarless hard candy to stimulate saliva flow; cinnamon- or mint-flavored candies are good choices.

If you develop dry mouth while taking Spiriva and the suggestions in this article do not help, make sure to talk with your healthcare provider. I thought this might help so of us, I know dry mouth is a problem many of us deal with daily.
I also use personally use MedActive which I think works very well and I also use the Biotene products, they also help me with dry mouth.

That artificial saliva mouth spray is very good, as long as doc knows what is going on and is happy for the patient to use it.
Thanks for the advice it helps a lot. I do not drink enough. Maybe 1 cup of water a day not good, but will try to drink more.
