can plugged up sinis give you sob when exerting but not at rest?thanks

it does me.
when my nose/sinus' are plugged up with allergies or anything it makes me "work" harder to breath & i get SOB easily.
I'm a mouth breather anyway, but amazing how much air a mouth breather does get from their sinus'

You have to treat the sinus infection symptoms immediately.
There are also data which show that treating nasal and sinus disease can improve the global quality of life and decrease lower airway symptoms in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Most of what we call a sinus infection is not actually an infection, but an increase in irritation and inflammation of the upper airways. However, if left untreated can result in an infection from bacteria, fungus, or other critters leading to severe complications and increased progression of COPD. If you have COPD there ARE no minor airway problems.

Good info Gnott. Strange... I've had sinus problems, gradually getting worse, since last August and my new "wonderful" pulmo only said "see your PCP." MyPCP finally a couple weeks ago prescribed a z-pak and singulair, which did nothing--singulair, along with Claritan or zyrtec, may be helping the allergies a bit. But the sinuses are still horrible. Amazingly, I don't seem to be having any worse breathing problems. But who knows, maybe I would be doing better if the sinus problem would clear up. Now that I'm writing this, I realize that my breathing had gotten worse, that's why I went to another "better" pulmo last October and after the 6 min. walk, he put me on O2 with activity (was already on it while sleeping). hummm... Think I'll take that article Gnott posted with me when I go next week for a PFT.

Thank you all for bringing these up. I don't post much but I do read a lot. I'm bad about not paying attention or even noticing changes in myself unless it slaps me in the face. So thanks y'all for the slaps!! :)
