A couple of years ago I joined a research group for COPD. One of the main reasons was to be able to have tests that they required for the research they were doing for COPD. I wanted my doctors to have access to these test and I knew they would not run them otherwise. An echocardigram was one of those tests. It is very interesting. Try to see the screen while you are taking the test. You will see you heart pumping.

COPD and heart failure cause the same main symptom: shortness of breath with exertion. People with COPD, heart failure, or both have a limited ability to exercise, climb stairs, or walk long distances. Difficulty breathing occurs for different reasons in COPD and heart failure.
