Well, I am back on large doses of steroids. Was feeling worse than before the surgery, went to my pulmonary doc and with input from my husband, he noted he thought it was related to my lower steroid dose. So we bumped it up. Doing a titration 30 for 5 days, 20 5 days, then back to 15 per day. I started this on Monday.
I am feeling better, but far from how good I felt after the surgery.
As a side effect of the steroids,, I have gained weight, which I know is bad. Not exercizing enough.
I am back to being depressed, which I hate but have no control over.
Sorry to be a buzz kill...

Zeno, you are doing what you must to support a quality of life that is aceptable to you. There is no buzz kill there. This disease touches all in similar ways and then it touches us in unique ways. If thru it all you can find a smile at the end of the day you won. Take care and keep finding your victories, Bill

The operative sentence is "I am feeling better..." Nothing else REALLY matters - weight gain, exercising more, can wait for some other day. Give yourself kudos for feeling better a day at a time.

Sorry to hear you're down, but don't get down on yourself. You're tough and you know it. Is it muggy there at all?

Anyhow, sending best wishes that you turn the corner and work your way back to real good.

sorry you are feeling bad both physically and mentally.
glad you seem to feel better with a dose of steroids physically.
i can't take steroids, so correct me if i am wrong, but as you cut down don't they affect your moods?
so please don't be too hard on yourself

Zeno, the key word is you are feeling better. That is good. You know there is no escape from steroids, you either gain weight or lose, neither is good, and it does affect your mood. I hope you feel much better soon and for now, just feel good.

Hang in there and try and take each day at a time. I am glad you are feeling some better. The steroids do affect your moods. You are not a buzz kill..........................Hope you are feeling better today.
