Started Rehab on Friday. 30 minutes on a recumbent bike. O2 dropped to 78 so they upped the o2 to 6. Brought it back up to the 90's.
Then the hard part started, Occupational Therapy
700 reps over 10 different exercises with 1 lb weights. Not too bad. the 300 reps standing, holding onto a chair. Then the dreaded stairs. Very difficult.
I remember how boring exercise is. I will bring my Ipod to listen to music while on the bike and treadmill.
Not as sore as I though I would be.
Back again Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for 6 weeks.
My goal is to get as strong as I can not only for the transplant but for myself in everyday life.
Haven't heard yet if I made the cut or not for the list. I will call them on Monday to see what the outcome is.

You will receive a letter from unos once you are accepted. ..its a 4 to 6 week wait once all paperwork from hospital/clinic is submitted. .good luck...

Pat, I can remember my days in Pulmonary Rehab, I was never more grateful to be "forced" to exercise. I was bored, and like you will be doing I took my IPod, and that makes all the difference. As each session goes by you will get better, it will take more to make your O2 level drop, and you will recover quicker. Just so you know, I kept my IPod thru all the exercises, and I suspect you will do so as well. Good Luck, it sounds like your off to a great start. Take care, Bill

my excercise i could hardly do in the begining, but i'm amazed that over time i can do more & more & my 02 has improved!

Best thing I ever did. I used the rehab. over 6 times. It help me get back on my feet each time. I am getting ready to get for my 6th time.
