I have found the only way to really be able to stay out as long as you want is to buy or have the Inogen. I had it for a while until I got to the point I couldn't go as much. It runs on batteries. You can charge it at home while using it and then charge it in the car while driving. It is a concentrator in itself. If you are healthy enough to put the batteries in and change them it is wonderful. There are several on the market. Medicared paid for mine, I just needed more home oxygen and wasn't traveling. I have a Airsep freestyle which also runs on batteries and can be recharged anywhere there is an elctrical outlet or car charging. I runs for about 2 hours, I have an airbelt that extends it to six and also can be recharged along the way.. It weighs about 5 lbs so it is easy to carry around. Love it. Airsep also have another model that runs a little longer but is larger and weight more.

I concur with KyleesNan, I am very much comfortable with my Airsep Freestyle. Weight is a huge issue with me and this is not a problem in that area.

Mine was provided by my oxygen supplier in addition to my home concentrator. I received my portable a year after the home unit and the charge to Medicare did not increase with the portable.

My husband is my person who does all the investaging for me.
He is really good at reading and fig out these things. Since he likes to do this I let him.
It lets a load off of me.
So what I can say is there are several companyies out there that do these things oxygen tanks.
You can look them up in the phone book and on line. You see what they offer.
We had no idea until my husband started asking qestions. Then if you have insurance what type etc.
I found out they rent these tanks to you unless you purchase them.
I also found out that the insurance I have after a while will purchase them after renting so long.
If you are on Government type insurance they treat it even different.
So good idea to ask and see.

I am wanting to find a portable 02 that is fairly light weight and can be used either by pulse or continuous flow. I have read about several different ones but the one I like only operates on pulse and not conti. I am considered a lazy breather so I need to continous flow. I can use the pulse but after awhile I feel like I am not getting any air and I hate the sound when it works.
Am planning on a plane trip around Thanksgiving so want to be sure I get the right one and get use to it before a long trip.
Any sugestions would be great,

Just got back from a trip from Savannah. I rented an imogen cause mountains & road smog really bother me, although I usually don't need O2 during the day. It was great! You can use the batteries, a wall plug or an adapter for your lighter in the car. Would like to buy one but they are a bit pricey. Going to start saving now for when I need O2 24/7. I haven't gotten any worse though, since I quit smoking 4 years ago. HMMMMM!!!!! Debbie
