ty for posting it.
it's been a long time since i have had a PFT i forgot what all it involved.
it doesn't say= is this done in a regular room or is this where they put you in a glass box?
(this will be a 1st for me knowing not to drink coffee before it :) )
from what i remember it was exhausting to do---how the heck can you do it more than once & have the numbers "match"?
i had it done 3 years ago & my supplemental 02 needs have changed in that time; do they let you breath supplemental 02 if needed?
the guy at dr said i'd do a "plethysmograph"---i googled it & it said it was a test used for sexual offenders!!!
EEK!
but it turns out thats just the name of the "in chamber" machine; i think for now on brenda's "Telephone Booth" will be the term i use LOL
That's just what I experience so maybe totally different for you...
it has been almost 3 years since i have done one & all i remember is the guy pushing me to keep blowing some candles on the screen out until i thought i would pass out.
joanneb=yearly/annually seems like a decent interval between testing to know what is happening.
you'll need to tell me all about it after you have yours :)
please know that my prayers are with you that you haven't progressed
(((HUGS)))
Just get in there, relax and when she says take a deep breath and blow, then do it as hard and fast as you can. I have not heard of them not accepting a test because things do not match up. Here in Temple Texas, they give you 5 tries, then she chooses the one test that has the closes 3 graphs.
Jarca, if you can visualize a growth chart for a business, you remember how the graph goes up as the profit goes up, well this is like that, as you blow the computer registers the pressure and puts it in graph form on the computer.
You have received good advice, so go to it my friend, and hope all these new tests and numbers show a remarkable inprovement.
