The prescription meds you have outlined are not considered supplemental meds. These are drugs ordered by your doctor for your particular situation and medical history. This combination is to keep you level & controlled. Over use of Rx. meds can make you feel unwell...the take as directed is important.

Supplemental items we speak of at DS are usually over the counter (otc) that we buy & use.....many times without our doc knowing. Yes, over use of otc & unprescribed drugs can cause us to feel unwell. Vitamin overdoses are especially a cause for feeling poorly.

IF you are not using anything but your Rx meds in a proper manner..possibly you need to see your doctor to make sure you do not have another type of problem developing. You did not mention your symptoms....

My Dr. only uses the Doxy one when I have an infection as it is an antibiotic I think. She also stopped the ventolin because it was not rescuing me at all. I am also on the Spiriva once a day. I use my Symbicort as a rescue as well as the twice a day. I keep a diary of how I am feeling and take it with me to the Dr. so she can see what effect any of the over the counter things I have taken have or when we need to cut back or up some of the Rx ones.

I was concerned when a recent response indicated the possibility of "over-medicating." I assumed if I'm taking only what is prescribed and I follow the directions(Dr. and labeled), unless or until I have a negative reaction, I'm good to go. I don't know enough to go beyond this; and I hope everyone is in a position to do the same.

Doxy is also used to prevent Malaria...so maybe ask your doc if that Rx has anyting to do with living in the Phillipines.

Thanks guys...yes i meant maintenance meds...i checked the scrawly writing on script and it does say 30 tablets of doxocyline which i was given as an anti biotic for bacterial infection, but i used it for months so thats why ive got so many side effects....
