Ray, try some positive thinking ....you have a wonderful wife who loves you and we are all sending hugs and prayers that all will be ok. It seems you caught it early enough, that is a blessing.

If I might make a suggestion, it is something I believe literally saved my life when I suffered several years of depression when I lost several family members in just a few short years. That is books on tape. Not just any books but humour and there are several extremely funny series out there. It has the advantage of 1. Being read aloud to you usually by professional voice actors who do it for a living and really add life to the words. 2. It's really hard to pay attention to your own one tracked mind when it's attending to the book. 3. Laughter heals and when that happens he may be more prone to the positive vibes you're putting out there. Just a thought anyways.

I really hope you do, I think it will make a difference. Often libraries have them if you are close to one. If you have an android type cell phone there is a free book reader with text to speech capabilities called "cool reader" although that type isn't voice actor, the computerized voice is so good you can't tell it's not human.

Also many places to get these digital books free online. I can hook you up myself if you have trouble finding. Best humour authors to look for PG Wodehouse, Terry Pratchett, George McDonald Fraser....Wodehouse is free though because his copyrights have expired. His Jeeves & Wooster series very famous and very funny.

My wife and I just learned that one of my younger sisters, the one with COPD also, is in the ICU unit of a local hospital with diabetic ulcers on both of her feet! /the other day her feet were so swollen, they were splitting open, plus, her sugar was up in the mid 700's! Her doc wasted no time getting her into the ICU! So if y'all don't mind, could y'all say a prayer or two for my sister Diane. Thanks everyone, in advance

Of course I will say a prayer. I am doing a lot of that lately. He went to the vascular surgeon and found out he has a very strong pulse in his ankle. He starts wound care, probably a hyperbaric chamber, next Tuesday. Is there is a wound care place near her? What made her sugar go so high?

Hi Zen, According to her son, who lives with her, all she eats is "junk food". She's 58 yrs old and lives 30 miles from me. /that's one of the reasons they're keeping her in the hospital, to teach her, again, the only foods a diabetic can, and cannot, eat! Yes she is being seen by a wound care specialist. S I mean, if I dram of her leg and it looked ok. Personally, I believe it's CHF. She was supposed to have some tests for that today or tomorrow lucky she didn't lose one or both of her feet. Now she has one leg that is filling with fluid. She said they did a sonogram but everything supposedly was ok. If I didn't have enough on my plate already, I'd be able to help her out more. She's on SSDI, and Medicare, but it's not enough. Her husband died a year ago and had no life insurance. She just fell apart after he died and left her with nothing at all. The bum he was! I'm getting angry so I'll leave it at that! You tell Ray I said hi and that he's darn lucky to have you! Jim
