Hi everyone,
well, I'm doing well with the post weight loss surgery ...it's been 3 months, and it's going well. 70 pounds so far lost, but I think I'm in a plateau..but that's ok!
On the other hand..I had been in menopause for 2 years, but had some breakthrough spotting.
cutting to the chase, they did an ultrasound, and my endometrial wall has thickening, which is NOT normal for a post menopausal woman. (guys, bare with me on this one, lol!)...
So, they wanted to do a biopsy..dr couldn't do it...Sent me to an oncologist, to rule out Endometrial Cancer/Uterine cancer. He couldn't get the biopsy either, scheduled a D & C, had it this past Friday , March 7th..
he couldn't do the D & C, I guess it's just "how I'm built"...
So, now he wants to do a Hysterctomy, it's set for April 8th.
I go to see him on April 4th, and he will explain WHY he feels he should do one.
I had no plans for kids at the ripe age of 51...so its no big deal, but he still has to rule out if I have cancer or not.
Scary, but he will be doing a Robotic Hysterectomy, so only 2 incisions in the belly, and shorter recuperation time, than a normal Hysterectomy...>Still have to be careful, not lift more than 10 pounds, and not do any wild dancing or bungie jumping!!!
Ok,just wanted to share. IM not looking forward to another abdominal surgery, 3 months after my Gastric Bypass, but hey...it's better than cancer, and if it has not spread, than having the surgery, will bring me out of that danger completely.

Your weight loss news is wonderful, and I am so proud of you for staying on task with it all.
As for the other, I would for sure get him t explain why a biopsy or d&c could not be done, but also I would not hesitate to get the hysterectomy if they advise it. I am 68, and still have all my parts, and to old to have that kind of surgery, (I asked long ago) but I can understand your situation.
I think it will send you right into menopause, or that is what I have heard, but you might already be there.
Honey, I will keep you in my prayers, please get all the info you can, so you will know what to expect afterwards.

70 pounds in 3 months! wow! i can see why you might be at a "plataue" right now.
our body won't let itself "starve" so often when losing a lot of weight a person will have to adjust their diet several times when they "plateau" like you just mentioned.
you may want to talk to your dr next visit to see what foods you can "change up" to start your body into losing weight again.
MEN IGNORE THIS!
BOO=you're at that "tween" stage in age & with this weight loss you might still be a bit pre-menopausal so make sure before you do anything drastic.
i thought i had my "last" period in 2005 (50 yrs old) as i hadn't had a period for 11 months. 11 months later 2006 i had a period--- ( was so discouraged),,,,, but then i never had one again so it was like one last clean out LOL)
