Getting used to using that inhaler the doc wants me to use 4xday, says it will help keep the disease from progressing though I honestly can't tell the difference when I take it but maybe I'm not supposed to.
Anyways, I pulled the inhaler out of my jacket pocket, uncapped it, forced all the breath out of my lungs, started hauling air in and gave it the squirt.....huh, that felt kind of funny. Stung a bit. Looked inside the mouth piece, which is always covered by the cap, but I see several flecks of tobacco and other minor pocket minutiae inside it. Well that p!ssed me off I tell you. It had got in from the other end that isn't capped off through the wee space between the bottle and the plastic dispenser. Now the sting makes sense, it's the same sting when you get tobacco on your tongue. No idea how much got in me, but the unit is now in a sandwich bag in my pocket. Hope it doesn't cause undue trouble.

The drug and the purpose is kind of secondary though to my concern over inhaling my pocket lint. I really don't think it will do anything, or I hope it won't anyways. It's not totally uncommon for me to get a few crumbs of toast and the like go down the ole blowhole.
As far as the lint, hopefully you don't have problems with it.

Well here goes ..... the only way to SLOW DOWN the progression is to quit smoking. Sorry for ya feller, but that's the truth. You SLOW the progression, unfortunately the docs haven't found a way to STOP the progression ..... YET! The inhaler, which you claim to possibly be Albuterol: If that's the case, all albuterol will do, short term, is open the bronchial pathways in your lungs. Sorry pal, look it up on yer 'puter if ya don't believe me. You've got so much to learn, but look at it this way ....... as long as I'm here, The Good Lord willing, I'll be keeping you straight for a long time to come. The great thing is that you'll get to "Pay It Forward" one day when some young whipper snapper joins up and you can take him/her under wing, like I've done with you, and teach him/her everything you know that you learned from the rest of us all!

By "extreme tachycardia" I mean, my heartbeat has been tracked by med personnel as high as 720 beats per minute! I thought the poor nurse was going to have a heart attack right there in the hospital!
it helps bronchiospasms (it's a bronchodialator) and my daughter has used it for years for her asthma (PRN)
they gave me that inhaler also & it never seemed to do anything for me so i never used it (simple eh).
last year i had a bad exacerbation & my dr ordered albutereol in nebulizer form and that helped me alot when i was sick...now i haven't used it for months.
either you need a new dr or you are misunderstanding what your dr is telling you.
i wouldn't worry about the lint & tabacco. i was just out in the wind & i think i inhaled half the topsoil & weed seeds in the valley. (not to mention i was spraying some nasty mean ground sterilezer --- i hate weeds LOL)
have you ever gotten into a pulmonary specialist & had a PFT (pulmonary function test) or HRCT (high resolution cat scan) of your lungs?
if the lint & stuff bothers you, maybe turn your pockets inside out when you wash your clothes and you could also put your inhaler i a little ziplock baggie to keep it more protected.
i live on a farm & treated my animals & when "tube feeding" or shoving meds down their throat if i got it into the lungs they "blew/coughed" it out on an exhale.
we are built tougher than a peice of lint ;)
Albuterol/and or Ventolin is only prescriped as a fast acting inhaler every 6 hours when you are short of breath!. There are othe inhalers that primary doctors and pulimnary doctors prescribe such as Advair & Spriva ect as daily inhalers to use to help you breath better. Please check to see what is helpful to you.

Silfox, all - The quit smoking bid is going just fine. My roomie now smokes on the patio and has also cut down as he now has no one to bum them off. Lol
