To piggy back onto my last question - are lung nodules common the COPD population?

In my opinion, yes, because most of us are ex smokers, have probably worked or years in places with all kinds of fumes/irritants, in medical, may have been exposed to tb and caused scarring, ect. But , I would say YES...

The initial reason I went to the pulmonologist was for 5 nodes. He said he couldn't biopsy them because they were so small he would have burst them with the first prick of a needle.

All that worrying I did was for nothing. But I bet they are common among us.

I believe they are common, I had two- that was my reason for seeing a pulmonologist and getting the copd diagnosis. Mine are stable, so they may have come from my pet chickens when I was a kid :)

my ct scans showed nodules also. now the doc just keeps an eye on them & they don't seem to be getting any bigger. (yearly cat scan)
so reading this i guess i'm not the only one with nodules :)

According to the Cleveland Clinic's web site, lung nodules are found in half of all CT scans. The Mayo Clinic's web site states lung nodules are common.

Apparently, lung nodules are common in people who don't have copd.
