never heard of it

It is has been out for over a year. Not many have been able to tolerate it. But it does help some with chronic bronchitis. I think it causes stomach issues diarrhea etc. I was afraid to try it. My doctor had given me a sample also.

I have benn using Daliersp for over a yr. I was hesitant to take it can cause emotional problems, Dr. wanted me to try it. I experienced mild diarrhea and more moody. I fell like it has helped with sudden breathing attacks. cost about 1 dollar per day.

Yes, my doctor wanted me to start taking this drug this month, he is a new doctor and he didn't tell me of any side affects. I was only able to take the pill for about 2 1/2 weeks. I was not able to tolerate it. I had diarrhea, cramping, and was sick to my stomach. Even the smell of food made me ill. After about 2 days after I stopped taking it, I felt better. I didn't notice any difference in my breathing, but maybe I hadn't taken it long enough to see any change.

I've been taking it since Nov 2011. It came out early that year. My doctor's stated goal for taking this drug was to keep me out of the hospital, and it has done that! The side effects are substantial, though, so they can be a factor. I lost my appetite, and lost 26 lbs in the first few months. But that got better, and I have since regained about 15 of those lbs. It does cause diarrhea, and for me it got better for about a year or so, and then came back. My doctor suggested that I take psyllium fiber (like metamucil) to bulk things up, and that has helped a great deal.

One of the great advantages of this drug for me was that it allowed me to reduce my nebulizer sessions for 3-5/day to 2-3/week! That was a huge improvement.

It's too bad that a teeny-tiny pill like that is so expensive, but it could be worth a good try from you. Good luck!

my dr wanted me to try it a year ago & when i read the side effects i chickened out & told him no.
it's fairly new i think so generic will be awhile.
what i read it helps more with bronchitus than emphysema.

my dr. gave me samples also----it is mostly used for bronciial not for emphysema which I have ----it is very expensive---drs.are really puhing this drug---they must get a good kick back from the drug company---grrrrr

Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. I've only taken 2 days of this and the stomach issues do seem to be the main problem. It does seem to help my breathing by cutting the mucus somehow and that's why my pulmo wanted to try it. Since nobody reports serious problems I may give it a month and see what happens. Guess I haven't got anything to lose here. With some drugs the stomach issues wear off after a time so we shall see what we see and report back. Thanks again to all of you - Ruthie (dollaraudit)
