After waiting for nearly a month cos of the holidays, I finally got to get accessed at one of our top hospitals here in Melbourne.
The PFT breathing test was really thorough n I must have done 8 different inhales n exhales over the 40mins plus a blood test to check haemoglobin which was fine.
Next I met my Pulmo...a Sir xxxx, so I assume he has some sort of distinction award either by the Lung Assoc or Pharmaceutical Company...
He was really great and showed lots of interest, esp the pain factor, n ordered another CT scan.
He took me off the Seretide n put me on Onbrez and another inhaler I never heard of before called Alvesco. (Ciclesonide 160) and my usual Spiriva....maybe its all in my head for now, but its amazing how much my SOB has improved since.
Well the tennis is over n a fantastic win to the Chinese lass.....bed time now so have a good day to all you just waking up....

i'm so glad that you have found a dr & hospital that you seem to like & can trust; that is 1/2 the battle :)
when will you get your PFT restults? it sounds to me like they did the one that does DLCO and everything.
wow! isn't it nice after all your time in a country that didn't have "up to date" care that you are finally getting diagnosed & treatment.
you didn't mention being put on 02, so i assume (?) you still are doing well enough not to need supplemental 02 ---lucky you! i hate hauling 02 everywhere i have to go.
keep us updated & i truly am happy for you!
i'm also interested in the "pain factor" and if they can help you get out of pain!
CT scans are so interesting, especially if you have the bullae we talked about in another post recently---my hospital put mine on a CD so i could keep it with my records & pull it up on any computer.

Jean as I said maybe it is the thought of being on new meds, but I do feel im not as SOB...time will tell....
Chrissie....yes we watched both finals...I felt kinda sad for Nadal but glad he did not pull out or the crowd would have gone berserk lol
