Hopefully that will cure the problem. They said they helped her into the bathrroom, and told her to hit the call button when she was ready, so Miss Independent, thought she'd take it upon herself, to get up alone, and she went BOOM!! She went to PT today, and worked an hour already!! So, she's already at it!! Hoping she will do ok. Thanks for all of your support and prayers!! Love you all!
Boo
so glad she wasn't hurt and my prayers are with you both for her future success!
I know when I was in the hospital they would put a bright red band on my arm for fall victim. I thought I could do it by myself :) I guess I was what you called hard headed LOL
God bless my friend
Just wanna echo everyone else, what are friends for? My prayers for you both are on their way!
Gotta guve your mom an "A" for spunk! She sounds a little like me. ... 10 years ago, when I had my first brain surgery for my Parkinson Disease. The surgery lasted from 6 am into the early evening. Wide awake the whole time. After a short post op recovery room stay I was taken to my room in the NICU. While there, the nurses got me up on my feet. Then, back to bed. Later that night I had to pee like a race horse! So, off I went! When I was finished I decided I was going to go on a self guided tour of the NICU unit. I didn't get too far. But far enough to cause a missing patient alert in the NICU! hee hee hee! I had nade it to a visitor waiting room about 20' from my room when I heard my hurse in somewhat of a panic. As I got to my feet to see what was going on to cause such commotion in the hallways, I didn't get too far. There, filling up the entire doorway of the room was "BIG BUBBA", one of the security personnel assigned to look for said missing patient ... ME!
I sheepishly asked if he was looking for me (like I had to ask ...LOL!!!)
As my nurse wheeled me back to my room I just had to remind her that in all of the post op instructions I had been given, there was not one instruction saying that I couldn't walk around! I mean, all I had was brain surgery. Not leg or foot surgery!
The neurosurgeons and neurologists had a good laugh the next morning! Twelve hours after the surgery I was on my way home!
Have a good night, and tell your mom for me: YOU GO GIRL!
Prayers, Jim
God bless you my friend.
