Albuterol is a good bronchodilator, and the ipratropium takes the place of Spiriva.

As for the anti inflammatory drugs (corticosteroids). I am trying to avoid them as long as possible. Instead I try to include a lot of anti inflammatory foods in my diet.
It is my understanding the most of the drugs that are prescribed for COPD are not therapeutic, they only control symptoms (sometimes with bad side effects).
I believe that we can do more to slow the progress of COPD with diet and exercise, than with drugs.
