Good to have you here!! I have a chronic cough come up every so often with my bronchitis if I have been around irritants. (house dust is the worst) Then it is the devil to get rid of!!
I have both Bronchitis and mostly emphysema
BJ
Bj I used to get bronchitis a couple of times a year with awful cough
Now if I feel anything coming on I sniff with and gargle salt water, take vit C and maybe Allegra. I know, sounds simple but believe it has helped. Oh and of course I wash hands well whenever in public.
So much for me advising. I'll ask for yours in next installment: )
Really bad. I was told to take spiriva. Which I have for a while.
How is it viewed in here?
does this affect walking? I know it's probably circulation but my legs feel heavy sometimes and I don't walk well. Feelings of light-headedness. Of course some of this is just age-related but seems more noticeable when the COPD is acting up.

I do have a constant cough (mostly from the bronchiectasis, I think), but we are all different in the way this condition presents itself.
Take care, Lyn x
Spariva is a really good inhaler and if you were prescribed it, take it as directed.
Do you have a pulmologist (lung specialist) or just a G.P. ? I would advise the specialist, and get a complete tests and work up for copd, and as Dennygene said, ask about pulmonary rehabilitation.
Exercise is essential to keeping this disease at bay for a while, so is good nutrition, positive atttitude, and NO SMOKING or being around smokers, dust, chemicals, aresols, ect, anthing you can inhale that would cause irritation. Stay away from sick people, wear a mask in crowded places, ect...
I am just giving an idea of what this is like. You will be changing your routines and lifestyle to benefit your health.
Until you get into rehab, exercise at home, simple arm exercises lifting cans of food, walking as much as you can, a lot of exercises are online.
Just be careful and never over do anything to the point you are exhausted. Pace your self in everything. Let others do heavy lifting and dusting in your home, ect.
I know this was not asked for, but I thought it might help you and other new folks like Lyn get an idea of this disease. Please get a specialist to work with you and tho this disease can not be cured, it can be slowed down.
I still have the cough that the doctor said this antibiotic 3 x week would help. I do not intend to get a refil, because to much of an antibiotic can build up a resistance in your body. They say don.t worry, I say be pro active, it is my body and my life.
I hope you are having a wonderful day. I am so for, have to do my bike and treadmill later. Sounds impressive, but believe me my 2 year old grandson can do better!! lol
I gargle with listerine and use saline nose spray, still have the cough, maybe I will try the saline gargle.....
