I once read that COPD is not a disease for the faint of heart, and boy is that ever true. It is the love of life and my love for my wife, children, grandchildren and other family members that keeps me going some days. I have late stage COPD, osteoporosis( recently fractured ribs and last year a compressed fracture in the my back) two hernias, glaucoma in both eyes, high blood pressure, and now a horrible outbreak of shingles. Most of the above were direct results of COPD as well as the meds I take for it.
But, I have learned to laugh, embrace each day, and trust on God , and somehow the strengths comes to get through each day. COPD is not for the faint of heart, and I would not wish it on anyone, but life is precious. Embrace it.

Somedays I wish I could say the magic words to someone here who is struggling to raise themselves - just a bit. Hopefully, your message will hit home to some.
As this dx progresses, I seem to have many of the problems that you speak of. I never know if it is because of the COPD or if not. I guess it doesn't matter, but I always hope if it isn't a part of COPD then maybe something can be done to help that symptom go away.
I am sorry to hear that you have shingles, I hear those are miserable to deal with. my thoughts and prayers are with you.
I try to stay optimistic. Some times it is harder than others, but I ask for the strength to endure and it is always granted.
"Finding" this support group at a time when I was at a bottom in my life is a prime example of prayers being answered. :)

Sharing, keeping in touch with others, who walk this path, goes a long way to ease the lonliness, that our isolation, tends to bring...
I know what it is like tethering on the edge of no return and i also know that there is much more left in life, to look forward to, even if today i cannot see one.....
